FAQs
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are Conscience Designs products cruelty free?
Yes. Conscience Designs is proudly Leaping Bunny Certified. This certification reflects our commitment to cruelty free beauty and requires ongoing compliance with the Leaping Bunny Program’s standards.
Are your products vegan?
Our current skincare formulations do not list animal derived ingredients based on the ingredient information provided by our manufacturers.
Leaping Bunny certification relates specifically to animal testing and is separate from vegan certification.
Are your products natural or clean?
Our formulations combine botanical ingredients with functional cosmetic ingredients selected for a specific purpose. We do not believe an ingredient is automatically better simply because it is natural or automatically unsuitable because it is synthetic.
Instead, we consider the complete formulation, including its purpose, performance, texture, stability, and intended use.
Are your products professionally formulated?
Our products are developed and produced by professional cosmetic manufacturers. Each formula is selected for its ingredients, intended benefits, texture, and role within a personal care routine.
Do your products contain steroids?
No. Based on the current ingredient information provided by our manufacturers, our skincare formulations do not contain hydrocortisone or other corticosteroids.
Do your products contain parabens?
No. Based on the current ingredient information provided by our manufacturers, our skincare formulations do not contain parabens. Our products do contain preservative systems selected to help maintain product safety, freshness, and stability.
Are your bottles recyclable?
Yes. Our bottles are recyclable. Because accepted materials and preparation requirements vary, customers should follow the recycling guidelines available in their local communities.
Are your products fragrance free?
Not all of them. Some formulations contain fragrance, essential oils, or naturally aromatic botanical ingredients. Review the full ingredient list and the Good to Know section on each product page before purchasing, particularly if you are sensitive to fragrance.
Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?
Skin sensitivity is personal, and no formula is universally suitable for everyone. Some Conscience Designs products contain fragrance, essential oils, botanical extracts, color, exfoliating particles, or active ingredients that may not agree with highly reactive skin.
Review the complete ingredient list and patch test each new product before applying it more broadly. Introduce products one at a time so you can better identify how your skin responds.
Are all Conscience Designs products noncomedogenic?
We do not make a universal noncomedogenic claim for the entire collection. Whether a product contributes to clogged pores can depend on the complete formulation and the individual using it.
If you are highly blemish prone or sensitive to particular ingredients, review the full ingredient list and introduce products gradually.
Are your products appropriate for teenagers?
Product suitability depends on the teenager’s age, skin, sensitivity, and the specific product being considered.
A simple cleanser, toner, and sunscreen routine may be an appropriate starting point for many teenagers. Products containing Retinyl Palmitate, exfoliating particles, fragrance, essential oils, or other active ingredients require additional consideration. A parent, guardian, dermatologist, or other qualified healthcare professional should be consulted when appropriate.
CHOOSING YOUR ROUTINE
How do I choose between Clarity Essentials and Radiance Renewal?
Clarity Essentials is designed for customers seeking a refreshing cleanse, lightweight hydration, occasional exfoliation, evening moisture, and daily sun protection. It may be especially appealing to normal, combination, and oily complexions or skin that often feels coated by excess surface oil and daily buildup.
Radiance Renewal offers a more conditioning cleansing experience with vitamin C hydration, occasional exfoliation, evening moisture, and a richer SPF finish. It may be especially appealing to normal, combination, and dry complexions seeking softness, moisture, smoothness, and visible radiance.
These descriptions are guides rather than strict rules. Choose according to your skin’s current needs, preferred textures, and ingredient sensitivities.
Which products are best for dullness or uneven looking tone?
Several products contain ingredients selected to support a brighter, more even looking complexion:
• Glow Getter Toner combines a vitamin C derivative with Sodium Hyaluronate, aloe, glycerin, allantoin, and botanical ingredients.
• Vacation Glow SPF 30 combines daily sun protection with Kojic Dipalmitate, Arbutin, Bearberry, and Licorice Root Extract.
• Glow Guard Vitamin C Cream SPF 30 combines sun protection, vitamin C, Vitamin E, and antioxidant focused botanical ingredients.
• Cucumber Bliss 2 in 1 provides occasional physical exfoliation to help lift away dull surface buildup.
Individual experiences vary, and these products are not intended to diagnose or treat a medical skin condition.
Which collection is best for dryness, visible radiance, or fine lines?
Radiance Renewal is the better starting point for customers seeking a more conditioning cleanse, vitamin C hydration, evening moisture, and a richer SPF finish.
The collection is designed to support skin that feels hydrated, soft, and comfortable while promoting a smoother and more radiant looking appearance. Retinyl Renewal contains Retinyl Palmitate, a vitamin A derivative selected to support a smoother and more refined appearance.
Which collection is best for oily or blemish prone skin?
Clarity Essentials is the better starting point for customers seeking a refreshing cleanser, lightweight toner, occasional exfoliation, evening moisture, and daily SPF.
The collection may be especially appealing to normal, combination, and oily complexions that experience excess surface oil, dull buildup, or an uneven looking complexion. It is not intended to diagnose, prevent, or treat acne.
What is the difference between TeaTox Gel Cleanser and Peptide Silk Cleanser?
TeaTox Gel Cleanser creates a refreshing lather and is intended to remove excess surface oil, sunscreen, makeup residue, and daily buildup. It may be especially appealing to normal, combination, and oily complexions.
Peptide Silk Cleanser provides a silkier, more conditioning cleansing experience. It contains glycerin, panthenol, botanical extracts, and skin conditioning peptides selected to support a soft, comfortable after feel.
Both are daily cleansers. The best choice depends on the cleansing texture and finish you prefer.
What is the difference between Hydration Toner and Glow Getter Toner?
Hydration Toner focuses on lightweight surface moisture with glycerin, Sodium PCA, aloe, and panthenol. It is intended to leave the complexion feeling refreshed, soft, and prepared for the next step.
Glow Getter Toner combines lightweight hydration with Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, a vitamin C derivative, Sodium Hyaluronate, aloe, glycerin, allantoin, and botanical ingredients selected to support a hydrated and radiant looking complexion.
Do I need the complete five-piece collection?
No. The complete collections are available for customers who want a coordinated morning and evening routine with occasional exfoliation.
The three-piece trios provide the essential morning steps: cleanser, toner, and SPF. Individual products are also available for customers who prefer to build their routines one step at a time.
Can I combine products from the Clarity and Radiance collections?
Yes. The collections provide a starting point, but individual products may be combined according to your preferences and skin’s needs.
Introduce new products one at a time and pay attention to how your skin responds, particularly when using products containing fragrance, essential oils, exfoliating particles, vitamin A derivatives, or other active ingredients.
USING YOUR PRODUCTS
What order should I use my products?
MORNING
- Cleanser
- Toner
- Broad spectrum SPF 30
EVENING
- Cleanser
- Toner
- Facial moisturizer
Use Cucumber Bliss 2 in 1 in place of your regular cleanser on exfoliation evenings. It is not necessary to use two cleansers during the same step.
How often should I use Cucumber Bliss 2 in 1?
Begin with once weekly, preferably during your evening routine. If your skin remains comfortable, you may increase to twice weekly as needed. Use Cucumber Bliss instead of your regular cleanser on exfoliation evenings. Apply it to damp skin using light pressure, avoid the eye area, and do not apply it to broken or irritated skin. More pressure does not create better results.
Can I use Retinyl Renewal during the day?
Retinyl Renewal is best placed in the evening routine because it contains Retinyl Palmitate, a vitamin A derivative. If you use it during the day, apply broad spectrum sunscreen as directed. Avoid the eye area, brows, lashes, hairline, and contact with colored fabrics. Review the complete product directions and precautions before use.
Can I use Retinyl Renewal during pregnancy or while nursing?
Retinyl Renewal contains Retinyl Palmitate, a vitamin A derivative. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before using this product during pregnancy, while nursing, or while trying to conceive.
We do not make universal pregnancy safety claims for cosmetic products because individual circumstances and medical recommendations vary.
Can I use Conscience Designs products with retinol, acids, or other active products?
Possibly, but compatibility depends on the specific products, their concentrations, how frequently they are used, and your skin’s tolerance.
Avoid introducing several active products at once. Review all ingredient lists and directions and consult a dermatologist or other qualified healthcare professional if you use prescription skincare or have concerns about combining products.
How should I patch test a new product?
Apply a small amount to a limited area of clean, intact skin before using the product more broadly. Follow the product directions and allow enough time to observe how your skin responds.
Introduce only one new product at a time. Discontinue use if persistent redness, itching, burning, swelling, or irritation develops. Seek medical attention for a severe reaction.
SUNSCREEN
Are your sunscreens mineral or chemical?
Glow Guard Vitamin C Cream SPF 30 and Vacation Glow SPF 30 are hybrid sunscreens.
They combine Zinc Oxide, a mineral sunscreen active, with Octinoxate and Octisalate, which are chemical sunscreen actives. They should not be described as all mineral sunscreens.
How should I apply sunscreen?
Apply sunscreen generously 15 minutes before sun exposure and reapply at least every two hours.
Use a water-resistant sunscreen when swimming or sweating. Read and follow the complete
Drug Facts directions and warnings provided with the product.
Do I need sunscreen when using products for visible tone or radiance?
Daily sun protection is an important part of a routine focused on maintaining the appearance of an even, radiant complexion. It is especially important when using a product containing a vitamin A derivative.
Apply broad spectrum sunscreen according to its Drug Facts directions and take additional sun protection measures when appropriate.
RESULTS AND SUPPORT
When should I expect results?
Skincare experiences vary according to skin type, product selection, frequency of use, environment, and consistency. Some benefits, such as a softer or more hydrated feel, may be noticed sooner than visible changes in overall appearance.
We do not guarantee a specific result or timeline. Use each product as directed and allow your skin time to adjust.
